This Georgian home was built in 1906 on an established street in Historic Oak Park outside of Chicago. Homes on this street are designed by architects from Frank Lloyd Wright to George W. Maher. In the 1970's, the Jesuit Order purchased the home, converting it to a retreat center. In the process, they removed nearly all the original character from the interior of the house and replaced it with a very 1970's ecclesiastical aesthetic.

The current owners purchased the house with the intention of restoring it to its original state. This included removal of nearly all interior finishes, re-organization of the second floor to a more typical floor plan, restoration of a sun porch that had been turned into a chapel, and the design of a new kitchen and bathrooms with development of new cabinetry and finishes.

The design of this project was completed with Christopher S. Payne, Architect of Record.
